The last few days,
have been a rather humbling experience for me, what with the release of the record and all. I feel genuinely touched by the fact that people have responded so positively to the music we’re making, and can associate with the things I wrote about my own personal issues and heartbreak.
All that’s left to do is kill it at Kitchenfest tonight and have the best time possible, but I know...
My top releases of 2011.
Everybody seems to be doing it, so I thought I’d clamber aboard the train. Although, I’m combining EPs and albums into one top 10 list.
1. La Dispute - Wildlife
2. Grader - 2011
3. Transit - Listen & Forgive
4. Tom Waits - Bad As Me
5. Bastions - Hospital Corners
6. Wolves At Heart - Write It Down
7. The Wonder Years - Suburbia, I’ve Given You All And Now I’m...

She said “Take a step back but please keep me in frame.” So I spent the next five years standing in your way I walked in with you alone I’m walking out with you alone. And I know just how you’d get back at me If I said that these songs were about you. You’d cry and say: “I never meant to make you feel this way” You’d cry and say: “well it’s been done, and it’s too late” Step...
Steven Hill: Why I don't punch people very often →
stevenhillgraphicdesign:
Violence and aggression only shows fear and disrespect, Love and understanding shows respect and power. Until the point where the latter doesn’t work and you need to protect yourself and the people you care about. That’s why I really don’t see how violence should be an integral part of a music…
This, all of this.
Anyone
fancy lending me a knee for a bit? Neither of mine function properly any more, and it’s painful.
About to unleash the Hounds.
Shit’s about to go down, yo.
Wait, wait, wait.
Metal bands, masquerading as hardcore bands? How can we tell the difference any more? Oh wait, that’s right. Merch.
Think
I just said something well nice, and I’m not good at saying ANYTHING nice.
The sudden realisation,
that in the space of less than 8 months, Hounds have recorded almost as many songs as my previous bands in my prolific 4 year career in metal/tech metal/math. I like having a tangible end product to the collective efforts of myself and my friends, vive la productivity!

Also,
rather importantly, seeing The Barents Sea at Tunnels tonight, very exciting! And, I’m having Mini-Christmas tomorrow. This is going to be a very good week.

Today's prospects
have gone from being a long, boring day of trying to stay up and fix my sleeping pattern, to getting to play a show in Dundee where a last minute slot opened up. I’m very excited.
Everybody who's
ever been important in my life has walked out on me in one way or another, and it doesn’t look like this is a trend that’s going to end any time soon. It’s no surprise I’m a recovering borderline alcoholic, what with these abandonment issues.
/emo rant.

Kitchenfest III: The Fuckening. HOGMANAY EDITION, YESSSS!
Last night
Hounds practice raped, killed and buried my voice in the woods. As a result, I cannot speak. Totally worth it.
At home,
while waiting for my wages I had an entirely sober two hours in my place of work, and had a couple of energy drinks, instead of the plethora of alcoholic beverages I’d normally have, and enjoyed myself thoroughly. Alas, there is a downside, ended up spending a great deal of time with the girl I love/she has told me she loves me, yet claims to not remember it, ended up pulling her a lot, I...
